Yes, at
51 I need glasses! Right now I'm finishing the seam between
the deck lid and the cockpit.
The special
tool I'm using is a bondo spreader with 120 grit stuck to
both sides. This gives the perfect paint stick gap.
Now, Jack
and I are sanding the front hinge posts. This will take half
a day to make them nice.
A little
sanding here, a little pinhole there...
And then
urethane primer. Remember, we use dolphin gray as a color
to mix in with the primer. This base of gray keeps cover coat
to a minimum and makes the chips harder to see.
Chief
painter at work again.
This coat
will be block sanded with 220. Tomorrow, the car will get
one final coat of primer and Friday I'll shoot the silver.
