904-068
April 24, 2006
Steering is complete
to the steering column.
In goes a new duct.
Andy measures
for the pop rivets, which will hold the duct in place.
Once the
duct is in place, the hole is trimmed to fit.
Bingo, ready for
installation.
The third tach
is for my 904, the other two are the 12 volt electric tachs
for the 6 cylinder engines that will be installed in both
904's. The picture on the right are the old antage "we
make chicken salad out of chicken shit".
First they are
cleaned and polished...
(the inspection
for cracks happens during this process)
Andy then
dunks them in PPG aluminum metal prep (phosphoric acid).
This solution is
diluted with 50% water.
This brings the
California shiny to a more original patina.
Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
