Martini
RSR Conversion
(11/08/01) Pt. II
Andy and
Jack have already begun the dismantling.
The body
work is the first to be removed. The doors, hood, and tail
are easily removed but the fenders will have to be cut off.
Everything will be done to minimize damage in hopes of saving
all of the pieces we remove.
The wing
was quite significant for its time.
This covers
a duct that goes into the engine compartment.
We thought
that the duct went to the intercooler but in fact it was just
to get air into the engine compartment for cooling.
While
removing the tail light assembly we found large amounts of
asphalt stuck in the wheel well. As we continued to take pieces
off we found this all over the car.
The "vintage"
fire system will be saved for sure.
